Mood
Mood today as I practiced breathing quietly and calmly at the hospital while a seasoned nurse (“I'm not new to this, I promise!”) muttered under her breath, trying and failing twice before finding a vein for an IV port in my arm. (I'm the one with great veins, remember?)
And then more quiet, calm, frowny breathing while I waited THREE AND A HALF HOURS for an endoscopy of my esophagus.
The procedure itself went smoothly. I was under partial sedation; all I remember is the sense of being at a party where everyone was standing around, looking at me, but I had a big plastic thing in my mouth so I wasn't able to make myself understood. Not a very fun party. But then I woke up in the recovery area — aaannnddd DONE!
“Random esophageal biopsies were taken,” so now we wait a couple of weeks for the pathology report, but presumably all is well.
Though I have to admit I’m curious about one line in the procedure report:
deformity IN the stomach or OF the stomach? an important distinxtion? what have you been putting im your stomach?!! but hey, at least that SECOND portion of your duodenum is normal? where is the first though?
ReplyDeleteLOL. Screen shot above is from the paper version they discharged me with. When I got the digital version via my "health portal," there was no mention of deformity.
